valve electric actuators are key devices used to control valves in industrial automation. However, under certain circumstances, such as power interruptions or actuator failures, the valve may not open or close properly or may even be locked in a certain position. This is where manual operation becomes especially important. So, when you need to manually operate a Valve electric actuator:, here are some things to keep in mind to ensure smooth and safe operation.
Precautions
Clear switching direction
The opening and closing of the valve has a fixed direction. In the U.S., counterclockwise rotation usually means opening the valve, while clockwise rotation means closing the valve. Therefore, when operating manually, be sure to follow the correct direction to open or close the valve.
Avoid using tools
The handwheel, handle, and other parts on the valve are designed for normal human power. This means that when manually operating the electric actuator of the valve, you should operate it directly with your hands, not with the help of tools such as levers and long wrenches. Using tools may apply excessive force and cause damage to parts. In addition, when the handwheel is fully open, gently reverse it a little to ensure a tight fit between the threads and prevent loosening and damage.
Marking work properly
If the handwheel of the valve electric actuator is used for limiting, mark the intended position. You can use a ruler and marker to record the fully open and fully closed positions of the valve during servicing. This helps to avoid jackknifing the dead center in the fully open position and causing unnecessary damage. Also, be sure to loosen the handwheel locking nut before manual operation, and when operation is complete (unless otherwise noted), be sure to reset the handwheel and lock it with the locking nut to ensure safety.
